Take the Ultra-Processed Food Quiz

Could I be addicted to sugar, carbs and ultra-processed foods?

This quiz was created as a screening tool, by Dr Jen Unwin and Heidi Giaever, who titled it CRAVED.

It is based on the ICD-10 addictions criteria, set out by the WHO. It was designed specifically for individuals and clinicians, as the current screening tools for food addiction are designed for research purposes, they are long and difficult to score, so not ideal in brief clinical situations.

Please answer the 6 questions below as honestly as possible

The quiz routinely refers to ‘These Foods’, which typically refers to carbohydrates such as pasta, bread, desserts, biscuits, fizzy drinks, ice cream, pizza, cereal, bread, potatoes, rice, sweeteners, etc. Any sugar, grains or ultra-processed foods. However, some individuals may have difficulties with other types of food such as cheese or nuts and others may not.

So in order to get the most out of this process think about which foods you find difficult.

It may be helpful to write ‘These Foods‘ specific to you, before taking the quiz, to have them to refer to.
